The Animal's Party

The birds settle in the trees with a screech and a twitter
As Monkey stokes the fire which was starting to flicker
Fox, Owl and Tiger all gather close around
Elephant and Rhino stomp their feet upon the ground
The sloitary Whipoorwhill hums his wary tune
And the buzzing flies fly around Baboon
Lion i slate because he didnt want to come
He grumbles as he sits down,"Let's get this done"
Wolf gives a whistle as Jaguar starts to dance
I think she woul've had a swipe at him, had she had the chance
The animals all take their turns to jump and leap about
Even Lion enjoyed himself, to that there is no doubt!
For this was the night that they would all act as friends
They do it each and every year, from dusk untill night ends
They finished off with fireworks
A pop, a bang, a crack
And Armidillo got so drunk he fell onto his back
The noisy crew, they all agreed, this was a lot of fun
White Mouse said regretfully, "I've really got to run!"
The party was drawing to a close
How long it went for, nobody knows
The music as heard a mile away
And they all still remember, to this day
The best time they have ever had
Even Lion agrees that it wasn't that bad
The bonfire burned until early morning
By then most everyone left was snoring
Side by side the animals lay
Some of them slept until the next day!
One by one they woke and left
And went off to do what they did best
They all went back to their normal routines
Rabbit read an article in a magazine
Snake wrote a story, the one you're reading now
Lion and Zebra got in an awful row
But then they remembered, that night now long ago
And Lion apologised, despite his bruised ego
For the animals know that they should all be friends
That's the way it goes, and how the story ends.
