Starting out with the basics, we will look at how the skull fits in the head of the horse and focus on the different head shapes with line drawings. First we will master drawing the side of the head and then proceed on to different angles. I have four line drawings of different breeds: the Arabian, Quarter Horse, Draft Horse, and Saddlebred. If you would like a line drawing of another breed please tell me which one and I will do it.

If you can't figure out why it's not turning out right, measure the lines with your pencil and make sure the line is at the right angle by again comparing with your pencil, or you could use a ruler. Make sure you post your drawings and tell me if you want to be critiqued. Once you post some line drawings of the side of the horse head, then we will do the front, and so on. If you need help drawing a certain body part (such as the ears or eyes) please tell me and I will explain further.

Happy drawing! Very Happy
